A holiday fun event turned bloody and deadly early Saturday morning following a fight between two men over a woman at St Ann night club.Stabbed to death is 30-year-old Norman Comrie of Barnstable, Trelawny while his alleged attacker is in St Ann police custody.
Reports to the North Coast Times are that the two men were among patrons at a packed Go-Go club on a plaza in Salem/Runaway Bay in the wee hours of Saturday when two men had a dispute over a woman. Comrie was reportedly dancing with the woman in the night club when the man approached him questioning his actions. The man claimed that the woman, a dancer, had a relationship with him. Comrie continued dancing with the woman when the man pulled a pair of scissors and stabbed Comrie. There was bedlam in the club as people rushed outside.
Comrie was rushed to the St Ann’s Bay Hospital and died while undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, police who were quick on the scene acted on reports and went to a home where they apprehended a man and found the pair of bloody scissor, The man reportedly told police that Comrie was dancing with his woman.
Checks by North Coast Times revealed that Comrie was a deportee living alone in Barnstable, Jackson Town, for the last three years since he had been deported to Jamaica. He had three children in the area. Reports are that Comrie drank heavily and frequented bars and night clubs but was not known as a trouble maker. He was unemployed and was supported by relatives overseas.
