Jamaica National (JN) officially opened its doors as Jamaica’s eighth commercial bank this morning with functions across the country.
In Ocho Rios, St Ann a brief ceremony at the undercroft of the JN Building at Graham Street and DaCosta Drive was attended by business leaders and other dignitaries from St Ann and St Mary.
Executive operations manager of JN Bank, Janice Robinson Longmore told guests at the launch that JN Bank was committed to a covenant with its members..
Also addressing the gathering in Ocho Rios was Jennifer Martin, director of JN Bank who said the 142-year-old building society had become a fully owned mutual bank, owned by its members . She promised it would be convenient, innovative, technology supported and would have low rates and low fees..
Also speaking at the brief opening ceremony was custos of St Ann Norma Walters.
Officials of the new bank and dignitaries joined in the symbolic ribbon cutting at the door of JN’s Ocho Rios operations after which guests entered the building, sharing pleasantries with staff.
