Jewel Dunn’s River stages staff awards with cheerful vibes, lots of cash and prizes

The cheers and sounds of joy, laughter and support for each other were the dominant emotions and vibes at the annual staff awards at the Jewel Dunn’s River Resort and Spa in Mammee  Bay, St Ann, on Friday April 15. The awards ceremony in the Bling Disco room saw several staff of the resort copping premium prizes.

The ceremony was hosted my emcee ‘Jenny Jenny’ from Hitz 92 FM .She

kept the awardees and guests entertained with their humour and interaction. The ceremony commenced with the instrumental of the National Anthem, followed by prayer by Minette Mills.

Guest speaker Dr. Fitz Pinnock gave the awardees words of wisdom and encouraged them to use failure to reach success. “We all have failed sometimes once, twice or even more at some points in our life but we should use this as a means of elevating ourselves and push harder so you all can be successful at your next attempt.” Dr Pinnock made reference to Steve Jobs, co-founder and CEO of Apple Inc. He said some of the challenges Jobs faced during his youthful years and the failures which he encountered did not prevent him from constructing one of the largest technology companies in the world.

Next, all the nominees were presented. They were in the areas of smile, front of the house, heart of the house supervisor of the quarter, most recognized and most exemplary. All the nominees received a certificated and a beautifully wrapped gift item.

The special awards followed, with the first presentation made to the top wine seller 2015, Christopher Saddler. He received gift basket, certificate and cash.

Bartender of the year 2015 award is Ryan Green who received gift items and cash award.

Chef of the year 2015 is Antonio Thomas.

Special recognition was given by Erika Bent to Melbourne Small for his driving services.

The cheers continued to get more intense as the top awards continued, some of the prizes included cash prizes, gift baskets, tablets, smart TVs, gas vouchers, smart phones, top-up credit , travel tickets courtesy of Jet Blue Airways and much more.

Most Exemplary award—Ann-Marie Chin

Best Smile—Cammara Brown

Most Recognized—Damion Wittingham

Sales Achievement Award—Fallon Facey

Guest Service Award—Jason Bruce

Jewel Dunn’s River Ambassador Award—Sanya McDonald

The department of the year 2015 was Accounts. They received a trophy and $35,000.

As the shouts and cheers went on there was still more prizes and awards to be given out. These included :supervisor of the year,  Devon Gordon who received several gift items including gadgets and a cheque for  $152,100.00 and manager of the year Sharleen Senior she received several gift items and a cheque for $162,100.00.

The vote of thanks was done by Mr Jewel Dunn’s River 2015 Omar Green who thanked Jewel Dunn’s river for acknowledging the importance of staff workers. The function ended with special guest artiste Kiprich presenting some of his hit singles.
