STABBED MAN HE BELIEVED WAS IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH HIS BABY’S MOTHER
PORT MARIA, St Mary; June 24, 2025 –
A jealous St Mary man who reportedly attacked and stabbed another man he believed was having a relationship with his baby’s mother has been arrested and charged.
Charged with wounding with intent is 38-year-old Ricardo Ricketts, otherwise called ‘Tweekle’ and ‘Shortman’. He is a chef, of Geddes Town district in St Mary.
Reports from the Port Maria Police are that at about 9:50 p.m., Saturday, June 21, in Oxford District in the parish, Ricketts approached a man he believed was having an affair with the mother of his child. Ricketts brandished a knife and inflicted a stab wound to the man’s abdomen. The wounded man ran to escape further injury and was rescued by residents who transported him to the hospital for treatment.
A report was made to the police, following which the accused man was taken into custody during an operation in his community on Sunday, June 22, and charged a day later.
His court date is being arranged.
