JACKS RIVER, BONNIE GATE WIN BIG IN ST MARY CRICKET

HIGHGATE, HAMILTON MOUNTAIN SUFFER HEAVY LOSSES IN 35-OVER ELITE COMPETITION

PORT MARIA, St Mary; Oct. 7, 2024

Jacks River and Bonnie Gate scored convincing wins in the LP Martin Funeral Homes-sponsored St Mary 35-Over Elite Cricket competition on Sunday, October 6, 2024.

In the competition, also sponsored by Costley Construction, Sandals Dunn’s River and Sandals Royal Plantation at Jacks River field, St Mary,  the home team (Jacks River)  defeated Highgate by 9 wickets. Batting first Highgate scored 149 all out, with Tyson Gordon  top scoring with 51 . Johnyine Stanford made 15 and Onjue Taylor 14. Bowling for Jack’s River, Tyreese Saunders  4 for 29 off  7 overs was the pick of the bowlers.

In reply, Jack’s River  strolled to 153  for 1  off 21 overs  Lesmon  Lewis 46 not out , Jeovane Richard 39  and Nick Saunders  20  retired  hurt   did the damage, against   Tyson Gordon  1 for 39  off 5 overs

BONNIE GATE OVAL

Over at Bonnie Gate oval, Bonnie Gate defeated newcomers Hamilton Mountain by 147 runs.

Batting first,  Bonnie Gate made 258 with Jason Goldson 56 and Javier Green 51 the mainstay of the innings.

In their turn at the wicket, Hamilton Mountain were bundled out for 101.

Shavaughn Boyd and Green grabbed 2 wickets each.
