ISLAND RADIOLOGY CELEBRATES 10 YEARS

ISLAND RADIOLOGY CELEBRATES 10 YEARSCompany started in Ochi, moves to better offices and expands to Mandeville

Cut the cake, share the laughter and celebrate. This was exactly the order of the day as Island Radiology, located on Eight Rivers Shopping Plaza in Ocho Rios, St Ann, on Thursday, June 19, celebrated a decade of serving their customers. The imaging center, which started operations on May 10, 2004 on Evelyn Street where it spent nine years, has, over the years, given their clients excellent, courteous service, adhering to their mission statement of being the most dominant, reliable and preferred provider of affordable, high quality, state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging services in Jamaica and the Caribbean. Board chairman, Welsford Sinclair said: “Ten years is basically a landmark. Any company that a has been in business for ten years is an achievement in today’s challenging environment because there are a number of companies that have started and folded along the way, so just to be operational after 10 years is a great achievement.”

 NEW, IMPROVED SERVICE

Sinclair mentioned that of the achievements over the decade, the most significant would be the establishment of another center in Mandeville which offers all the services as the branch in Ocho Rios plus magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). He also said the relocation of the office from Evelyn Street to the fairly new Eight Rivers Plaza has offered customers more convenience and has alleviated the challenge of space and comfort they had at the old office as the facility has given them the opportunity to design the office as they would like it. “The move to here has been a very major, costly but necessary move, and the customers have reacted positively to it.”  Sinclair also mentioned that in the ten years, the office has now facilitated a cardiologist who offers echocardiography and stress tests, thus making it more convenient for the patient. When asked to look through his crystal ball into what the future holds for the imaging center, Mr Sinclair mentioned that he wants the patients of Ocho Rios to be the beneficiaries of MRI services. Sinclair said: “Our ten years have been quite full fulfilling as we have achieved most of what we set out to do. We have established a new office elsewhere and relocated to a new office. Financially, it has been a rewarding ten years and I look forward to another ten years.” For branch supervisor Barbera Bernard, the ten years have been built on customer service, and patient comfort and service efficiency is top priority. She said the eight-member staff has a very good relationship with patients. “We have a very good staff that is helpful especially to the patients.” Along with a friendly, knowledgeable and courteous staff, the center has state of the art, updated and fully computerized equipment. Serving over 40 patients per day, Bernard said that when a patient enters the door they can only enjoy the best service there is to offer. “Island Radiology is the best, we give the best service… we are not here to help the healthy alone but the sick too.” For her ten years of service to the patients, Bernard said: “It is very interesting dealing with the patients and the doctors. Our patients give good reports of our services that is why we keep having more persons coming daily. The imaging center offers services in digital X-ray, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, Spiral CT scans, mammography MRI (Mandeville branch only) among other imaging services.
