The Iron’s Mountain Seventh Day Adventist church located between Moneague and Golden Grove, St Ann, held their seventh anniversary thanksgiving service on Saturday, January 3 on the church grounds. With a good turnout of worshippers from adjoining communities came out to celebrate with the church. The anniversary was celebrated under the theme “Arise! Shine! It’s harvest time.” The main speaker of the function was well-know evangelist, Fitz Henry, he made some powerful remarks and in a dramatic presentation urged members to clothe themselves in righteousness and get to know God before it is too late. Present at the function was also church pastor Fitzroy Bailey, leader Baron ‘Breezy” McKenley, and president of the North Jamaica Conferenceof Seventh Day Adventists, Karl Archer.

When The Timescaught up with MrMcKenley he gave us an over view of the church’s progress throughout the years and also a run-down of the day’s activities.“This is the seventh anniversary of the little church here in Irons Mountain. When we first started out it was in 2008 with not much members but we gradually grew more, so today we gather as a community to celebrate our seven years and seven as you know is a perfect number in God’s sight. What we started off with today was with of songs and testimonies, also we will be having the blessing of some babies, special prayer for the youths and we will close out the day with a grand gospel concert with me performing. So I just want to thank God for his blessings and I hope that we will continue to grow stronger and be blessed for 2015.”
