The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Ocho Rios branch on Saturday May, 17 visited the St Ann Infirmary, located in Priory. The small team of eight members gave the elderly personal hygiene care helping them clip and clean their nails and shaving and cutting the hair of the men. Members of the team included Rex Murdock, Cathy Murdock, Marsha Brooks, Rohan Francis, Peter Lester, Mark Henry and Dale Smith. The team was lead by Reverend Paul Lester. He said: “This is a church that cares for the poor and needy, we have the humanitarian department which is specific in supplying items to people who need it, we also go into organizations such as this and make donations such as this. However we have been working with this infirmary and November last year we also came in and did major paintings throughout the building and now we are here to make a donation of some hygiene kits and quails for bedding. As we stand for righteousness we have a passion for the poor and needy. I’m personally attracted to the residents here, my heart goes out for them and especially knowing the fact that I’m in the health care profession, I have this passion to come in from time to time and to give them some love, share the word of God with them and to render whatever assistance I can. I trust that the Lord will bless us in all that we do and I hope as we do this it will better the lives of the residents here.” The hygiene kits were handed over to Nurse Yvonne Ferguson, she thanked the team for their efforts and urged them to continue the great work as it’s a blessing to the establishment.
