Police say they are investigating the death yesterday of a prisoner in the St Ann’s Bay lock-up.
The Inspectorate of Constabulary (IOC) is leading an investigation into the death of a prisoner and the injuring of another at the St. Ann’s Bay Lock-up in St. Ann on Wednesday, November 16.
The dead man has been identified as 26-year-old Carl Thyme of Goshen district in Brown’s Town, St. Ann.
Reports from the St. Ann’s Bay Police are that about 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, November 15, Thyme and an inmate were involved in an altercation during which he was stabbed in the chest. Another inmate also received a stab wound during the incident. Both wounded men were taken to hospital where Thyme later succumbed to his injury and the other admitted in stable condition.
Investigations continue.
