Hundreds of children received goodies at a treat put on by East Portland Member of Parliament Ann Marie Vaz on Friday in Port Antonio.
The Christmas treat was staged at the Neville Antonio Park, in the Portland capital.
Children were treated to snacks, rides, and toys. The children also received face painting.
For this event, a special focus was placed on “Mental Health in children.” A team from the Mental Health Department of the Ministry of Health & Wellness was on hand to provide information on this important area of life.
Also well received was a section of the programme when children went on stage to show their talents, with emcee Clifton Couse aka Night Hawk, carrying the programme along.
The MP gave away tablets, bicycles, book vouchers, and phone credits to the patrons. Administrative Assistant to Mrs. Vaz, Shanique Green stated that over a thousand (1000) children benefited from the treat.
