On Thursday, December 8, The Noranda Community Council of Discovery Bay awarded fourteen citizens and institutions for outstanding performance and contribution to community development. The event, at the company’s sport’s club marked the third staging of the Awards of Excellence. Citizens were awarded for their contribution to business and community development; education; public relations; transportation and lifestyle values; agriculture; music, religion and politics; broadcasting; commerce employment and community building and economic and social development. Several items were done in honour of the awardees. The awardees were addressed by Rev Delroy Johnson of the United Church of Jamaica and the Cayman Islands. Also present were custos Norma Walters; custos emeritus Radcliffe Walters; vice president and general manager of NJBP Dada Holdings Antoine Liddell as well as other members of the community council.
