Guns, ammo seized in St James

The St James police seized two firearms and several rounds of ammunition in the Glendevon area of the parish in two separate incidents in less than three hours on Friday, November 18.

According to the CCU, the first incident occurred when a joint police/military operation led to the seizure of a Bursa Thunder 9mm pistol along with a magazine containing eleven rounds of ammunition in Dallas, Glendevon, St. James.

Reports from the Montego Hills Police are that about 11:00 a.m., a man who reportedly ran and discarded an object was pursued, held and the object retrieved. It was discovered to be a loaded semi-automatic pistol.

He was taken into custody in relation to the seizure. However, his identity is being withheld pending further investigations.

About two hours later, one Glock 9mm pistol along with a magazine containing three .40 rounds of ammunition were seized at Bottom Pen, Glendevon. One man was arrested and charged in connection to this find.

He is 27-year-old Naccoy Wilson of Mall Road, Rose Heights, St. James. He has been charged with Illegal Possession of Firearm and Ammunition.

He is scheduled to appear before the Western Regional Gun Court on Thursday, November 24.

Reports from the Coral Gardens Police are that about 1:48 p.m., lawmen were on patrol when they saw Wilson acting in a manner that aroused their suspicion. He was accosted, searched and the weapon and ammunition seized. gun-seize
