THEY DIDN’T KNOW THE MAN THEY WERE HOLDING UP WAS A COP
Two would-be robbers, at least one of them armed, ran leaving their gun and a car behind after a man they tried to rob in St Ann turned out to be a policeman.
You have heard several times that many of these gunmen are big COWARDS, right?
Well, here is another testimony to that view.
Reports to the North Coast Times are that the incident happened at the intersection of the Mines main road and Llandovery main road, between Salem and Laughlands in St Ann.
According to a report from the police’s Constabulary Communications Unit (CCU), just after midnight Thursday (into Good Friday morning) a policeman in plain clothes was sitting in his car at the intersection, where people also get public transport.
Two men approached the cop. One shone a light into his face. Pointing a gun at the policeman. The other would-be thief told him to get out of the vehicle. According to the CCU release, “The policeman complied, but then surprised the gunmen when he challenged them.”
Police said in addition to their weapon, a Taurus 9mm pistol that was loaded with eight 9mm rounds of ammunition, the gunmen also left behind a grey Toyota Altis motor car.
It is reported they ran across a river into thick bushes.
Investigations are ongoing.
