Aided by a futuristic theme from the year 2085, matched with a Grammy-award styled setting, the Beaches Ocho Rios Prestige Awards for 2016 was a breathtaking event celebrating the achievements of the employees, on Thursday night, April 28.
The event, which was held at the hotel’s property in Boscobel, started off with a cocktail party on the lawn, with employees and members of the hotel management and guests mingling and enjoying the moment before the awards ceremony began.
The cocktail party also saw Alexia Anderson of the Loyalty and Travel department, depicting the role of a real life mermaid, while other hot employees also dazzled in their costumed roles.
The awards ceremony, began minutes after eight, with general manager of Beaches Ocho Rios, Brian Roper, congratulating the 58 nominees on their hard work in 2015. In the same breath, he congratulated the rest of the staff by emphasizing that it was the “most amazing effort for the 470 of us to put this event on… It is the most amazing team work.”
The big winner of the night was Altinea Patterson, who walked away with the Beaches Ocho Rios Diamond Talent of the Year (formerly Team Member of the year).
The Beaches Ocho Rios Platinum Talent of the Year (formerly runner up Team Member of the Year) went to Larando Richards from the Engineering Department.
