The Glad Tidings Church of The First Born Port Maria Chapter hosted their Songs of Praise on Saturday, January 31, at the church in the St Mary capital. The theme of the day was “Coming out of the Wilderness” based on Scriptures from Isaiah 43, 1-12 and Joshua 1, 1-9.The afternoon was filled with powerful songs of God which got everyone on their feet and praising God. Moderators of the service were Evangelist Natasha Roper-Hinds and devotion conducted by Diane Ellis. Praise session was conducted by Radol Elliott. Pastor Denzil Thompson said the church celebrates praise every year and moves the service around to the various congregations. It was the time for the port maria congregation this year and they prepared for a great service.Also present at the day’s service were: general overseer, Bishop Theodore Sharpe; deputy overseer Everton Walters; director of the youth movement, Leroy Brown and leader of the Port Maria church, Pastor Samuel McFarlane. Also among those participating in the Praise Sessions were Maxine McLeod; Pastor Denzil Thompson and the four youth coordinators of the regions, Deacon Lennox Robinson, Area 1; Lorna Mitchell, Area 2; Davroy Chin, Area 3 and Evangelist Emelio Wilson.
