The prosecution is awaiting the forensics in a ganja case involving two St Ann brothers.

The two brothers were allegedly found with 30 pounds of ganja in a car in St Mary.

They appeared before the St Mary Parish Court on Thursday, January 12, when another mention date was set for the case.

Those charged are 54-year-old, Patrick Ferguson, a chef and his brother, 44-year-old Windel Ferguson, a vendor, both of Main Street, Runaway Bay in St Ann.

The prosecution outlined that on the day in question, while the police were at a check spot, they stopped a car that was being driven by Windel Ferguson. His brother, Patrick was a passenger in the vehicle.

The police later searched the vehicle and found nine plastic bags in the car trunk. In each bag, a parcel of ganja was found.

The officers also allegedly found another four small bags in a spare wheel.

The ganja weighed 30 and half pounds. Both men were arrested and were charged for the offense.

When both men appeared in the court on November 1, they were offered bail by acting senior parish judge Yvette Wentworth-Miller in the sum of $100,000 with a surety.

As a condition of their bail, the Ferguson brothers are to report to the Runaway Bay Police Station on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.

The brothers are to return to court on February 23.
