Galina Breeze Hotel, a boutique hotel, just outside of Port Maria, St Mary hosted an art, music and dance camp for the local community of students who love the arts. The camp was led by guests of the hotel, from the United States and sponsored by the charity arm of Galina Breeze Hotel, American Caribbean Experience. They brought in professionals to teach and refine the local artists/musicians/dancers in the local area around Port Maria.
Galina Breeze Hotel in keeping with the theme of “Keep Jamaica safe for tourism” decided to play an active part in introducing tourists to the cultural side of St. Mary and the rich heritage of Jamaica.
During the first week of January, the camp made a visit to the St. Mary Infirmary where they
presented to the residents an ART Armor for their garden.
The mayor’s office received a map of Jamaica, with a replica of the flag superimposed. It was made out of recycled trash found along the sea coast. The message is: recycling works and keeps beaches beautiful. Mayor Richard Creary and his staff were quite pleased with the presentation.
