POLICE LEAD 6-HOUR SEARCH IN TOUGH TERRAIN
CLAREMONT, St Ann; May 3, 2025
Nearly a dozen police officers, area residents, and colleagues of a woman who went missing last week combed the tough terrain of St Ann Saturday, May 3, without finding any trace of Takiya Godshaw.
Thirty-one-year-old Ms Godshaw, employed to the St Ann Health Department, reportedly disappeared last Saturday, April 26, 2025, from her home near Claremont and has not been seen since.

Reports to the North Coast Times are that her common-law husband left for work in Kingston and returned Saturday evening and did not see her. He reported her missing the following morning.

In a story carried by the North Coast Times based on a police release Monday, April 28, the Claremont Police reported that at about 12:30 p.m., Saturday, Godshaw was last seen at home wearing a white blouse and blue jeans. ST ANN WOMAN MISSING

Godshaw of Barrett Hall, Claremont, is of brown complexion, slim build, and about 162 centimetres (5 feet 4 inches) tall.
The search, a week after Godshaw’s disappearance, was led by DSP R McGibbon Scott, St Ann Zone 2 Commander, and Sgt O Leslie Murphy. They were supported by teams from the Claremont and Moneague Divisions, along with community members and the missing woman’s co-workers from St Ann Health Department. Area residents had been searching nearby communities in the last week.
The search Saturday started after 9 a.m. and covered many desolate areas with hilly outcrops, long stretches of woodland and brush and steep inclines and drops. The team checked caves, thick wooded areas, dirt tracks over the vast area, including Iron Mountain, Barrett Hall, and sections of Golden Grove.
The search was called off when heavy rain made the going difficult just after 3 p.m.

DSP McGibbon said the police would continue with the search and were going to consider other protocols, including the use of canines to in other areas.
Ms Godshaw’s children are living with her mother.
