ST MARY POLICE INTELLIGENCE PUSHES MOVE TO PREVENT VIOLENCE
PORT MARIA, St Mary; April 10, 2025
S The St Mary police say the curfew imposed in sections of Retreat St Mary – covering several communities – is part of a response to intelligence that suggests a possible reprisal for the murder of businessman Samuel ‘Frauty’ Dixon.
The 48-hour curfew was imposed Wednesday, April 9 at 6 p.m. and should remain in force until Friday evening. Police have been enforcing curfews in several violence-plagued communities but none has been effected in the Retreat area before.

The following communities are affected by the curfew: Retreat, Content, Davis Town, Pond Side, Charles Town, Ross Common, Three Hills, Industry Pen Housing Scheme, Liberty Estate Housing Scheme Phase 1 & 2, Spring Valley, Valley Bush and St. Mary Country Club
REPRISAL DISCUSSIONS
The St Mary police say: “The measure follows the recent murder of 59-year-old businessman Samuel Dixon, of Balmoral, Tower Isle, St. Mary, which occurred on March 24, 2025. Intelligence suggests that there are ongoing discussions about a reprisal in the Retreat Police Area, posing a serious threat of further violence, including potential shootings and additional loss of life.”
Dixon was shot multiple times by gunmen who lay in ambush for him at his house in the upscale Balmoral community. Dixon who owned more than six businesses including three gas stations and a car dealership in St Ann and Portland ran from his car as it was fired on. However, the gunmen, at least one of whom had a high-powered rifle cut him down in his yard.
