Police say four high-powered M16 rifles, a Glock .45 pistol and 87 assorted rounds of ammunition were seized in Flanker, St. James on Monday, September 25.
According to the CCU, the coordinated efforts of Security Forces resulted in the seizure.
Reports from the St. James Police are that between 4:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. a joint police/military team conducted operations in the Bronx area of Flanker, where a premises was searched and the weapons and ammunition found. Twelve males and a female were taken into custody for processing. However, their identities are being withheld.
Over the past week the Police seized approximately 26 firearms and over 390 assorted rounds of ammunition in operations across the island, the CCU release said.
