Head-on Collision on Queen’s Highway
A U.S. national died in a crash between a car and an ambulance on the Queens Highway, St Ann late Tuesday, August 15.
Dead is 32-year-old Jarelle Donato, of Dallas, Texas, United States of America.
Police reports are that Donato died as a result of injuries he sustained when a Mazda Demio motor car he was driving crashed into an ambulance on the Queen’s Highway, outside Discovery Bay.
Police say about 5:15 p.m., Donato was driving easterly, toward Discovery Bay. On reaching a section of the two-lane roadway his vehicle collided with an ambulance that was travelling in the opposite direction.
The car was badly mangled and Donato’s body was flung from the car from the impact.
The ambulance ran off the road for a good distance before coming to rest. It was not immediately clear if Donato was travelling with any passengers or if the ambulance was transporting anyone.
Investigations are ongoing.
