A man fished a gun from the sea in Discovery Bay, St Ann Friday, March 4 and handed it over to police. Then on Saturday police seized two other guns following a search of a house in Salem Runaway Bay.
A CCU report said a man fishing in Discovery Bay detected an object at the bottom of the sea and when he retrieved it he found it to be a gun. Police did not say what type of firearm it was or how long it might have been there.
In a separate incident, also in St Ann, Saturday, March 5, sometime after 8:30 a.m. police carried out a search at premises in Salem, Runaway Bay and a homemade shotgun with four 12-gauge cartridges along with a homemade handgun with three 9mm rounds of ammunition found and taken from the premises. A man and a woman who occupied the house were taken into custody. However their identities are being with held pending further investigations.
