IF YOU WANT TO GET ON THE LIST TO BE PUBLISHED MAY 31
If you are not yet registered to vote and intend to vote in the next General Elections today is the deadline.
The EOJ opened its offices on Saturday, March 29, to allow greater opportunities to eligible unregistered voters. But today is the last day to register if you wish to get on the list to be published on May 31.
That is expected to be the final list before the General Elections due by September 2025.
In a release earlier this month, the Electoral Office of Jamaica (EOJ) said: “The deadline for eligible persons to register for the next publication of the national voters’ list is Monday, March 31. The next list will be published on May 31, 2025.
The EOJ emphasizes the importance of voter registration, as it enables individuals to exercise their right to vote in upcoming and future elections. Only registered voters will be able to cast their vote on Election Day. Therefore, persons aged 18 years and older who are Jamaican citizens, or Commonwealth citizens residing in Jamaica for at least 12 consecutive months, are urged to apply by the deadline.
Prospective voters must apply in person at any EOJ constituency office island-wide and are advised to wear only bright or dark-coloured clothing to facilitate the process of taking their photograph. After the in-office application, the EOJ will send a team to verify the applicant’s residence, and then the application will be processed. A list of EOJ constituency office locations may be found on the ECJ’s website at www.ecj.com.jm/address.
Registering to vote is free of cost.
