The Life in the Word Basic School located at Lime Bottom, Ocho Rios, St Ann was the beneficiary of a visit and gifts from a team made up of well-known American Gospel musician and Pastor, Donnie McClurkin and Pastor Luis Mellini on Thursday June 4, 2014. The basic school welcomed both visitors who engaged the students in singing popular choruses. After all the fun activities, a presentation was made by pastors McClurkin and Mellini who gave the students some school items including school bags, books, pens and pencils. Bishop Dr Bryan Ffrench gave the visiting pastors a tour of the basic school, informing them that the school has made a massive improvements to the building. Bishop French also told The Times that the church will be working with the school on a project that can turn idle young people into real hard workers by helping them to develop a skill. Therefore the school well be installing a classroom to teach wood work, and over time, hopes to start teaching other skill areas. Pastor McClurkin and Pastor Mellini received a token of Jamaican sugar pine as thanks, from the basic school, for their kindness and taking time to visit.
