Family, friends celebrate Kathleen Rose’s 65th birthday

The family of Kathleen Rose held an appreciation ceremony and dinner in honour of her, at Family Worship Centre, Pointe Plaza, Ocho Rios on Thursday, October 2. The occasion marked the celebration of her 65th birthday.

After a musical prelude, seating of guests, the singing of the National Anthem and scripture reading, the ceremony officially began with the welcome and introduction by Pastor Muriel Scott, followed by the chairman’s opening remarks by Norma O’Connor.

Blessing of meal and cake was done by Pastor Rolston Scott, after which the unveiling of birthday cake was done by honouree Kathleen Rose and Maureen Washington. Mrs Rose was spoon-fed a piece of cake by her son Roussain Rose.

Family members and friends gave their greetings and tributes while dinner was being served. Maureen Washington did a musical item followed by the introduction of the guest speaker Rev. Dr. Carl Christian by Danaille Scott. Rev Dr Christian praised Mrs Rose.  “You are a reflection you are a light, woman of God you are beyond normal experience.” He finished his speech with these words, “Kathleen Rose, we salute you we honour you, and we echo the sentiments that surely you are an uncommon, extraordinary person.”

Next was an item by Howard Rose followed by the reading and presentation of citations and a presentations to Kathleen Rose by Pearl Johnson and Deacon Johnson

Prayer for the honouree was said by Cynthia Campbell the event came to a close after another presentation by Kayon Virgo and vote of thanks by Ruthann Rose.
