Fair Prospect, Titchfield High fail to advance in D-Cup

The two Portland Schools that made it to the Inter zone Round of the daCosta cup were dumped last week Tuesday when Brimmer Vale of St Mary came from behind to beat Fair Prospect high and Dinthill High beat Titchfield High at Snow Hill, in Portland.

In the first match, Fair Prospect high faced Brimmer Vale High. Fair

Prospect took the lead as an Akeem Brown shot found the back of the net in the 29th minute. Fair Prospect kept the attack going and two minutes after that Johnoy Brown doubled the lead 2-0, as Fair Prospect took control of the first half of the match.

HATTRICK

During the second half both teams missed several chances to score.

Brimmer Vale had hard work to do as they were under 2-0, and they started getting bolder with their plays.

Three minutes into the second, Adrian Simms stepped up pressure on Fair Prospect as he scored to revive Brimmer Vale’s hopes. That was the first of a hattrick of goals for Simms as he scored again in the 50th and 70th minutes. Giving the St Mary team a 3-2 victory over fair Prospect.

TITCHFIELD vs DINTHILL

In the second match Titchfield High faced Dinthill Technical High of St Catherine.

Titchfield High dominated the first few minutes of the match through

Ricardo Russell, Everton Dennis and Jelani Thomas. However, Titchfield

High’s Ricardo Russell and Jelani Thomas got several chances but missed.

Dinthill, soon after, pressured Titchfield as Rujae Jackson, Rodane Murray and Necoa Francis attacked.

Dinthill took the lead when Rujae Jackson kicked the ball into the back of the net, beating custodian Glenroy Osbourne in the 31st minute. Before half time, Dinthill brought the score to 2-0 in the 43rd minute as Rodane Murray beat the ball pass custodian Glenroy Osbourne.

The second half of the match saw Titchfield High attacking through

Christopher Johnson, Ricardo Russell and Jammarie Tracey. Twenty one

minutes into the second half of the match Dwight McKenzie took a corner that cammed to Akeem Cohall who beat custodian George Brownof Dinthill.

But Titchfield’s revived hopes were soon dashed as Dinthill’s Necoa Francis brought the score to 3-1, with his strike in the 72nd minute, the final score.

The results meant that Titchfield High and Fair Prospect high failed to advance in the daCosta cup competition.
