EXPECT DELAYS ON NORTHCOAST HIGHWAY SATURDAY

POLICE DETAIL TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE BERES, BUJU SHOW AT PRIORY

PRIORY, St Ann; Jan 3, 2025

The police and promoters of the Intimate Concert scheduled for Plantation Cove Priory St Ann, on Saturday, January 4, have set out traffic and security procedures for the event.

They say motorists are advised to expect delays accessing the North Coast Highway from off-roads and to obey the instructions of police personnel.

The show features Beres Hammond and Buju Banton

Among the measures to facilitate smooth traffic flow along the usually busy roadway near to the venue, they say an additional entrance will be created. All four entry points will be manned by police. Also, they say, police will be deployed along the stretch of road from the roundabout at Mammee Bay to the venue at Priory.

Traffic scenes like this on the two-lane highway are common)

Here are some of the details provided by the Police:

* An additional entry point will be constructed at the eastern end of the concert grounds to provide easier access for patrons traveling from (the east) Kingston and Ocho Rios.

* Patrons traveling from (the west) Trelawny and St. James will be able to enter the grounds through the existing ‘Mobay Gate’ located west of the facility.

* All four entry points will be signed and manned by police personnel to guide the entry process.

* Police personnel will be placed at strategic points along the North Coast Highway from the Mamme Bay Roundabout to Priory to reduce traffic congestion and increase the flow of vehicular traffic.

– No firearms will be allowed inside the concert area.

– Licensed firearms holders will be required to leave their firearms and ammunition at a designated area operated by the police.

Motorists are advised to expect delays accessing the North Coast Highway from off-roads and to obey the instructions of police personnel.
