The body of a retired woman was found in her bed with chop wounds to the head early Monday morning, September 28, 2026, in Portland.
She is 74-year-old Nuriel Burke-Mills, a retiree of Fellowship District, Port Antonio, Portland.
Reports to the North Coast Times are that at about 1 a.m. Monday, the body of Mrs Burke Mills was discovered by a relative with whom she lived. The relative raised an alarm.
Although retired, Mrs Burke Mills was very active and bought and sold food and other items, often travelling between Port Antonio and Coronation Market in Kingston.
The Portland CIB is investigating the homicide.
