He had been battling cancer for nearly four years.

Williams served as councillor representing the Ocho Rios Division in the then St Ann Parish Council, for the PNP, between 2012 and 2016.

When he became ill, he handed over his practice, Williams Medical Centre on Main Street, Ocho Rios, to colleagues.

His brother Neville Williams, a former JLP councillor, who also represented the Ocho Rios Division, said. “The family is truly shaken up because of our loss. Rohan was an integral part of the family. We ask people to keep us in their prayers during this time of bereavement.”

Desmond Gilmore, who led the Council at the time as Chairman and Mayor of St Ann’s Bay remembers Williams as a “very positive and self-confident person”. He said Dr Williams was: “Quite intelligent [and] very optimistic in his approach to life. If there was something he believed should be done you couldn’t tell him it could not be done.”

Williams leaves to mourn wife, Janice, and three children.
