DOZENS FED AND FETED AT ANNUAL TREAT BY THE RESTORATION OF LIFE MISSION IN CHRIST APOSTOLIC CHURCH

The Restoration of Life Mission in Christ Apostolic Church located in St Ann’s Bay St. Ann held its annual Christmas treat on Monday, December 23, on the church grounds. Host pastor and nurse Albertha Boswell-James did a marvelous job in putting the smiles on the faces of over 100 children for the Christmas season. The treat consisted also of funfilled activities such as singing and several children-friendly games. Parents also accompanied their children to the annual treat, and commended Mrs James in again extending her hand to the children for Christmas and her team in making the treat successful. Pastor  James’ daughter Dr. Jessica Williams, and friend Justin Curry from Orlando, Florida were also present at the treat and helped with entertainment.The church building and adjoining premises were filled with the sounds of  melodious carols as the children all sang and enjoyed being with close friends and parents. Pastor James explained her love for children and continued to emphasize to parents to take in interest and invest in their children so that they can be successful people in society.The children were served a finger licking lunch treat and were also given gifts packages including  books, crayons, toys, bags, shoes and other variety of items.More than US$2,000 was spent on the gifts some from close friends of Mrs. James. She expressed gratitude to all those who gave any contribution, among them she named, Hyacinth Buldgin, Dr Phillip Leefatt, Dr Ronald Fullmore, Pastoe Yvette Leechman and the church. Pastor  James also thanked her immediate family. Several parents expressed appreciation for the gift their children received, indicating that might be the only gift for Christmas.Pastor Grant thanked God for using her for the right way in helping children.

 

She also mentioned that the church will be re-located at a new location in St Ann’s Bay come 2014.She made an appeal for contributions, in order to purchase a small parcel of land to build a new church sfor the blessing of the community.The annual treat started in 1997 and has since then been constant, not only for Christmas but also for other occasions such as back to school.  In August, the back-to-school treat of  Restoration of Life Mission in Christ Apostolic Church helped dozens od school children with supplies, clothing and shoes.
