Two Killed In Quiet Portland Capital, Murder Total At 5
A pregnant woman and man were shot and killed in Port Antonio, Portland near midnight Tuesday, May 23.
Dead are Shadae Pink, 28, unemployed of Campbell Avenue, and Keino James, 23, unemployed of John Town District, both of Port Antonio. Miss Pink was in an advanced state of pregnancy.
Reports are that about 11:30 both were among a group playing dominoes on Campbell Avenue when a Toyota Fielder drove up. A man armed with a gun exited the rear of the vehicle and opened fire on Ms Pink.. James was shot as he ran away. They were both pronounced dead at the nearby Port Antonio Hospital.
Police sources say there was no personal or intimate relationship between the two. It is believed Pink was the intended subject of the attack.
The double murder has pushed the total number of homicides in Portland to 5. It is still the parish with the fewest murders in Jamaica.
