ONLY NORTH EAST TEAM TO WIN AS ROUND OF 32 KICKS OFF
OCHO RIOS, St Ann; Oct. 12, 2025
A dominant Ocho Rios smashed Petersfield High 7-1 before a big home crowd at Drax Hall on Saturday, October 11, starting the daCosta Cup round of 32 in an ominous mood.
Again, Kaneil Brown, with two goals, was on the score sheet and demonstrated in the play that he was a cut above the rest. Other scorers for Ocho Rios were Robert Morris two, Dario James one, Nathan Whitehorn one, and Tyrese Brown one.
Ocho Rios High was the only team of the six from the North East Region covered by the North Coast Times – St Ann, St Mary, Portland — to score a win Saturday.

(Ochi’s squad on Saturday. They seem to mean business.)
Titchfield of Portland earned a draw away to Paul Bogle in St Thomas; Port Antonio High went down 0-1 to Dinthill at home; St Mary High suffered a 0-2 loss to the Manchester High away; Ferncourt went down 1-2 to Maldon, and York Castle lost 0-3 to the formidable Clarendon College away.

(Kaneil Brown 2, Nathan Whitehorn 1),
The top St Ann schoolboy football team, Ocho Rios High, gave a good account of themselves leading up to the half-time when they led 2-1.
Ocho Rios exhibited their dominance in the latter part of the game when their power came to the fore.
Analysts told the  North Coast Times that is the pattern of Ocho Rios to be dominant in the second half. Even so, Petersfield, playing attacking football, often had the ball in the Ochi half, pegging them back.
Ochi, when they broke, almost always looked deadly and could have put down an even more impressive score line, as Petersfield seemed to have surrendered in the dying moments of the game
Ocho Rios play Maggotty on Wednesday, Oct 15, at Drax Hall and should consolidate their position in this round
