People are still talking about Leopold ‘Steely’ William’s inspirational autobiography ‘Determined to win.’ The book was launched November 29, 2014 in St Ann Williams first came to prominence because of his outstanding achievements as an insurances salesman and executive, including his establishment of a strong presence for Life of Jamaica (now Sagicor) in Ocho Rios. His achievements helped him to become a life member of the Million Dollar Roundtable and still sought after motivational speaker.The launch of the book reflecting the life of the businessman and former president of St Ann Chamber of Commerce, Leopold ‘Steely’ Williams took place at his resort, Sea Crest at Priory, St Ann. It was also Mr Williams’ birthday and hence a double celebration. His daughter Patricia brought a special birthday cake for the occasionIt was also the occasion for the launch of the Leopold Williams Foundation and the first award from the foundation, a bursary to Fitzroy Wickham of York Castle High who was the top CSEC candidate in the 2014 exams.Also at the launch were Mr Wiliams’ wife Dawn, Olympian Deon Hemming, Leon Hosang managing director of Murray and Tucker; Earl Moore, former president of Guardian Life, Donald Fisher and Cecil Simmonds. Chairman was Horace Wildes.
