MARSON TOWN, TANK LANE, AND CROOKED RIVER REMAIN UNDER RESTRICTION
The curfew imposed in a section of Oracabesa, St Mary, has been extended until Tuesday evening, April 15.
The curfew that began Friday, April 11, at 6 p.m. is in effect in the communities of Tank Lane, Marson Town, and Crooked River. It should have ended after 48 hours, Sunday April 13 at 6 p.m.
However, it has been extended for an additional 48 hours. The extension will take effect at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, 2025, and remain in place until 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.
The police say the curfew was initially imposed in response to recent incidents of violence and increased tensions within the affected areas. “This extension forms part of the ongoing strategic efforts by the police to suppress criminal activity, prevent reprisals, and restore calm and order. The Jamaica Constabulary Force remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all law-abiding citizens,” the police said.
