96 HOURS OF SECURITY MEASURE AS POLICE ‘INTENSIFY OPERATIONS’

The curfew which was scheduled to end yesterday evening (Sunday) in sections of Crooked River, Annotto Bay, St Mary, has been extended for an additional 48 hours.
The extended curfew will now run, to Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 6 p.m. The area has been under curfew since Friday evening, April 4, at 6.
The St Mary police say: “This extension comes as police intensify their operations to suppress ongoing gang-related activity and restore sustained peace and security to the affected area. The decision is based on continued intelligence and operational assessments.
Parts of Annotto Bay, Port Maria, and Oracabessa in the parish have experienced several curfews, police raids, and other security operations in the last four months.
The curfew boundaries remain unchanged:
- EAST along an imaginary line: From Point A located near the Paulwell Texico gas station, extending to Point B near the entrance to Marking Stone Beach.
- SOUTH-EAST along an imaginary line: From Point B near the entrance to Marking Stone Beach, continuing to within a section of the Gibraltar Housing Scheme.
- NORTH along an imaginary line: From Point C, following a path through a section of Ross Drive in Gibraltar Housing Scheme, returning to Point A at the Paulwell Texico gas station, thereby closing the perimeter.
During the extended curfew, all persons within the designated boundaries are required to remain indoors unless otherwise authorized by the police. Law enforcement personnel will remain strategically deployed to monitor the area, ensure compliance, and provide assistance as needed.
