The second staging of the Ultimate Dog Show was held on Sunday, December 27 at the Buckfield Community Centre, Ocho Rios, St Ann. The show was put on by, the Magnum Force Kennel based in Runaway Bay, St Ann.
The event featured free rides on a trackless train, bounce about, face painting, cotton candy, popcorn for the children and tricks by a magician. Children also got to benefit from the free cash give away for answering dog related questions.
Dogs were tested in the intense training of attacking ‘burglars’ with aggression. The crowd loved this section as the dogs were turned onto trained models with protective gear playing the part of attackers. The best overall dog at the event was Lord Knight owned by a proud, Gregory McBean. Knight was also the winner at the first staging of the Dog Show held in Blue Hole, Moneague.
The crowd was wowed by the bravery of Anthonty Hewitt, for playing the role of the attacker at he challenged Knight in a challenge without any protective gear and managed not getting bitten by the most aggressive pitbull in Jamaica. The famous pitbull also represented Jamaica in the American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT) competition and has won several dog shows. The four-year-old pitbull is doing great, owner McBean said and hopes he will get better in his training.
