Police are appealing to persons threatened in connection with the death of businessman 45-year-old Nicholas Jones to contact them for protection

According to head of police for St Ann, SSP Wayne Cameron, “Our intelligence is that threats have been issued on the lives of people following the murder (of Mr Jones). We have reached out to those people asking them to come in to us, just get in touch with us but they have ignored us.”

SSP Cameron said the police simply want to suggest to persons who have been threatened what they may do to reduce danger to themselves and families.

He said the threats had been issued to persons he could not name or that were not directly linked with Mr Jones. “I have reached out to them, sent messages for them to contact the police. I haven’t heard from any of them,” he told the North Coast Times, Monday (April 25, 2016).

Jones was shot dead last week Tuesday evening as he exited his vehicle at his home in Sunflower Villa, Salem, less than a mile from where he ran Sharkies Restaurant. His licenced firearm was taken but nothing else was stolen. Police have made no arrest in the case.
