The police constable, who is attached to the St. Catherine police division, was arrested on Monday, December 21, in relation to a case of housebreaking and larceny in Richmond Estate, St. Ann.
Police sources say that a house was broken into an item allegedly linking the accused cop to the crime scene was found.
Following this, the constable’s home in St. Catherine was raided, and a number of stolen items were allegedly discovered. The officer was later arrested. One of the victims later positively identified stolen items that were allegedly found in the house of the policeman.
BAIL GRANTED
When Constable Sangster appeared before resident magistrate Vaughn Facey in the St. Ann’s Bay Resident Magistrate Court on Monday, he was denied bail. This was because the constable, who is attached to Guy’s Hill police station, had other matters of similar nature pending before the court.

Following strong representation by attorney Oswest Senior-Smith and his junior attorney Ayana Royes, bail Qa offered to Sangster.
Sangster was granted bail in the sum of $300,000 with one to three sureties. In addition, he is to surrender his travel documents and a stop order has been put in place. He is to report to report the Ewarton police station in Ewarton, St. Catherine between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. A curfew order has also been put in place; he is not to leave his house before 5 a.m. and be home by 7 p.m. daily. Also, no contact is to be made between Sangster and the witnesses.
Sangster is to return to court on January 25, 2016 when the case is to be mentioned.
