The police constable charged along with two other men, for the murder of 25-year-old musician Anthony Hudson, has been further remanded into custody.

Constable  Fabian Henry is charged along with 23-year-old Neville Anderson and his 53-year-old father, Franklyn Anderson for the murder of  Hudson of Zion Hill, Richmond, St. Mary.

The men are to return to court in September 25, when a preliminary hearing is expected to begin. It is also expected that on the next court date, legal representation for the father and son will also be settled.

All three appeared before Resident Magistrate Andrea Collins on Thursday, September 4, in the Port Maria Resident Magistrates court.

Oswest Senior Smith, who represents the constable, has been trying without success to get bail for his client. Mr Senior Smith has indicated that he will be taking his application for bail to the Supreme Court.

In court on Thursday, Mr. Senior Smith received in writing, reasons, from resident magistrate Wentworth Miller, why bail for the constable has been denied. The magistrate had in a previous hearing denied bail but his reasons were not presented to the attorney.

Mr. Senior Smith said he will study the reasons presented to him and determine on what grounds he will take the matter to the Supreme Court. Mr Senior Smith is contending that statements made by one of the co-accused has denied his client’s involvement in the murder. That statement, Mr Senior Smith said was reportedly given by Neville Anderson, one of the accused.

Mr Senior Smith said the prosecution does not have a solid case against his client. The men have been in custody since March.

Anthony Hudson, a musician, disappeared in late January and his body was found in a shallow grave in Esher, by his mother and friends, weeks later.

Police said he was killed over an illegal gun.
