CONFIDENT OCHI HIGH ON THE ROAD

IN CLARENDON WEDNESDAY ON NEXT STEP TOWARD SEMI-FINAL SPOT

OCHO RIOS, St Ann; Nov. 12, 2024

Ocho Rios High Wata daCosta Cup team with the weight of heightened expectations on their shoulders are on the road Wednesday for a match in May Pen against Central High.

The North Coast Times has been told that confidence is high in the camp ahead of this quarter-final match. Ocho Rios have tasted defeat only once so far this season and believe that their group is wide open with each of the four teams in Group B having only one point from drawn matches at the weekend.

Manager Eyan Kean told the North Coast Times Tuesday, November 12, “The group is wide open and we are looking forward to making it into the next [semi-final] round.”

Central High are one of the favourites to reach the finals, even after their Clarendon neighbours Glenmuir secured the first semi-final place Tuesday.

Ocho Rios’ first outing at the round of eight stage was a one-all (1-1) draw with Munro on Saturday last. Their top scorer Keanu Reid was at it again and silenced the Munro supporters on their home ground before the team from Malvern got one back.

Ochi are hoping for a good showing away in Clarendon at the Wembley Centre of Excellence Wednesday, before their final match Saturday at home at Drax Hall against Garvey Maceo, another favourite to reach the semis.

Said Keane: “We just need to avoid defeat away and win the one at home to guarantee our spot in the semi-final.”
