Life should be a little easier and more comfortable for the students of Clonmel Primary and Infant School, near Highgate, St Mary, following the delivery of a water tank to the institution,  courtesy of Courts Ready Cash.

Member of Parliament for St. Mary South Eastern, and Minister of State in the Ministry of Labour and Social Security  Dr. Norman Dunn, joined students, teachers, and representatives from Courts Ready Cash at the handover of a water tank to Clonmel Primary and Infant School, on Wednesday,  December 6.

Dr Dunn told the North Coast Times that he expected the gift to make a significant difference to the school. He said the area generally has water supply issues. This resulted in regulated water systems, supplying the commodity to different areas and communities on designated days or portions of a day. “The tank will augment whatever storage facilities they have,” he said.

The Principal of the school Oshea Davis said the tank would help reduce the amount of water that had to be carried manually from one building to the other. It will also reduce the number of times classes are missed because of no or low water in storage.

She said the staff members were elated and grateful.

Bromley Primary, also in the parish, received a water tank on the day. Courts Ready Cash is providing water tanks to schools across the island in support of the government’s initiative to ensure access to potable water in communities with water supply issues.
