CLINICS CLOSED

GOVERNMENT OFFICES STAY CLOSED

All clinics across the country including those in St Ann, St Mary and Portland will be closed today, Tuesday, November 5.

Schools across the country remain closed.

An advisory issued by the Ministry of Health early Tuesday morning advised of the closure. This followed on the notice issued Monday evening, from the North East Regional Health Authority that four major outpatient clinics at the St Ann’s Bay Regional Hospital would not open.

These were listed as general surgery, orthopaedic, internal medicine, and physiotherapy.

The closures were a result of the inclement weather. public hospitals will however remain open.

A patient to the St Ann’s Bay clinic visited for dressing but said they were advised that the health centre would not be open.

In the meantime, the Government of Jamaica (GOJ) offices will remain closed today. The Office of the Prime Minister in an early morning release Tuesday, said the continued closure resulted as “inclement weather conditions across the island are expected to persist.”
