Thirteen people, including two children from Portland, are in custody following the seizure of some 600 pounds of compressed ganga on a market truck Saturday night, January 7.
Saturday night, January 7. Reports are that the police were conducting operations on Long Road in the parish when they signaled the driver of an Isuzu motor truck, with 12 passengers aboard, to stop. The driver complied and the vehicle was searched.
During the search, 600 pounds of compressed ganga in eight parcels, was found in their possession.
Thirteen people including two minors and six women were taken into custody.
Police say the street value of the drugs is about $3.3 million.
