MECHANIC ACCUSED OF STEALING $50,000 PLUS PHONE

A St Mary man accused of holding up and robbing a woman at gunpoint in Port Maria has been slapped with several charges.

He is thirty-four-year-old John Moyston, otherwise called ‘Johnny’, mechanic of Frontier, Port Maria, St. Mary. Moyston was charged with robbery with aggravation, possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorized access to ammunition and Using a firearm to commit a felony.

The charges arose out of a robbery on Sunday, July 16on Sennett Street, Port Maria.

Reports are that about 8:40 p.m., a woman was closing a business establishment where she works when she was pounced upon by two gunmen wearing masks. One of the gunmen used the firearm upon the woman and then robbed her of a Samsung Cellular phone and over J$50,000. The police were alerted and an investigation was launched.

Following an investigation into the matter, Moyston was charged on Friday, October 27. His court date has not been finalized
