The case against a St Ann cop who was arrested and charged in 2013 with murder was again put off when it was called up on the first day of the St. Ann Circuit Court last week Monday, January 26.Constable Ricketo Graham is charged for the July 2013 murder of 21-year-old Brown’s Town vendor, Christopher Hill. When Graham appeared before Justice Lloyd Hibbert on Monday, his lawyer Oswest Senior Smith requested that the case be put off for another date. Mr Senior Smith said he had just received documents in the case and needed more time to have further discussion with his client. The case has been set for February 11. The prosecution has indicated that it will be calling 20 witnesses including officers from INDECOM and the Bureau of Special Investigations. Constable Graham was arrested and charged on Friday, July 19, 2012, for the murder of Hill, who was shot twice and left wounded and subsequently succumbed to his injuries in hospital. He was charged following a ruling from the Director of Public Prosecution after a file on the controversial shooting was sent to that office. Hill was said to have been shot and wounded at 5:55 a.m along Wesley Crescent in Brown’s Town on July 12.After Hill was shot he was reportedly left by the roadside.Hill was later found and taken to St. Ann’s Bay hospital where he was admitted in serious condition. He died on Sunday, July 14, 2012, but not before giving the police a statement of what happened. Hill also told relatives, including his mother what transpired the morning he was shot. He said he had been shot in cold blood by the policeman.Graham’s bail has been extended until his next court date.
