Busy Signal Foundation to help St Ann’s Bay Hospital

Popular dancehall artiste Busy Signal, whose birth name is Reanno Gordon, launched his Busy 2020 Helping Hands Foundation on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Jewel Dunn’s River Beach Resort, St Ann
The Busy 2020 inaugural project funds, it was stated, will provide St Ann’s Bay Hospital Imaging Department with the necessary equipment to function efficiently and effectively.
In an interview with The Times Busy Signal explained that he is always giving back to his country, donating computers to his alma mater, Brown’s Town High School. But he said he wanted to go on to a wider scale of contribution because he realized the necessity of having good health care especially at the hospital where he was born. He explained that he was ecstatic about his philanthropic work to his parish. He further explained that the Foundation is not only to assist the hospital but he intends to launch into other sectors. He expressed gratitude for the help he has received and appealed to corporate Jamaica to get on board.
In attendance were: MP for North East St Ann Shahine Robinson; MP for North West St Ann Dr Dayton Campbell; Mayor of St Ann’s Bay Desmond Gilmore, and Oral Heaven among other distinguished guests.
Leo Garel, CEO St. Ann’s Bay Hospital expressed gratitude to the Foundation. He said that, as a regional hospital, having more equipment will enhance the service delivery and result in less waiting time.
Dayton Campbell, guest speaker lauded Busy Signal on his announced assistance to health care, He explained that being a medical doctor himself he was aware of the benefits of mitigating some of the challenges faced. He pledged $100,000 to the foundation.
The evening event was hosted by Amber of Irie FM. Angenice Whyte, acting regional public relations and adovacy officer of North Eastern Health Authority offered the invocation
