NEW PNP CARETAKER TO PUSH EDUCATION, ENTERTAINMENT

Newly appointed People’s National Party (PNP) candidate for East Portland attorney-at-law Isat Buchanan was out and about In the Constituency on Wednesday, October 2.

Buchanan is to go up against JLP MP Ann Marie Vaz who is now in her second term representing East Portland in Parliament. Buchanan replaces Colin Bell who resigned late last month citing lack of support for his candidacy.
In a media interview on Wednesday in Port Antonio, Buchanan said he has been listening to the people of the Constituency and the feedback has been positive and with a lot of high energy.
He said there were problems such as in education and economic opportunities for the youth. He also specifically mentioned issues with the Blue Lagoon.

The PNP caretaker said he would be seeking to develop entertainment facilities. “Entertainment facilities will be developed and the entertainment industry so that the youth will not sit idle and will have to be exported for job opportunities because Portland is a very beautiful parish,” he said.
