COLLEGE CELEBRATES 50 YEARS WITH CONFERENCE, THURSDAY
BROWN’S TOWN, St Ann, Dec. 9, 2025
Brown’s Town Community College’s (BTCC) School of Nursing will host its Annual Mini Research Conference on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at the St Ann Parish Library, St Ann’s Bay.
The event forms part of BTCC’s 50th Anniversary celebrations and highlights the College’s ongoing commitment to advancing women’s health through evidence-based research, a release to the North Coast Times says.

This year’s theme is “Empowering Women’s Health: Insights from the 2021 Jamaica Reproductive Health Survey.” The release says this reflects BTCC’s focus on improving health outcomes for Jamaican women through student-led inquiry.

According to the Faculty of Nursing Dean, Dr. Donna Bunnaman, “The Annual Mini Research Conference showcases the bravery, intellect, and community spirit of our students as we strive to create meaningful social change through research, education, and innovation.”

Among the highlights, fourth-year nursing students will present original research on key issues affecting women’s health in Jamaica.
The Annual Mini Research Conference is seen as a signature event in BTCC’s academic calendar.
