The St Ann’s Bay Improvement Committee has been arranging a Santa Gloria Day Rally on the first Thursday of May since 2009. In the past the focus has been on the rich cultural heritage of Santa Gloria – St Ann’s Bay.This year the committee decided to deal with what is now a national problem. There is grave concern about the deterioration in public behavior, a lack of respect for self and others and an ‘anything goes’ attitude. After careful consideration, the committee decided to launch a project on the Development of Social Responsibility with the theme Bring Back Mannaz and sub theme Start in the high chair (start with the young).The project was launched at Lawrence Park, St Ann’s Bay on Thursday, May 7, 2015. Students form schools in the area participated in the programme by providing the entertainment, introducing the guest speaker and delivering the vote of thanks.Marissa Johnson-Howell, JP represented Custos Norma Walters who was absent. Guest speaker was Aubrey Stewart IV, Guild President, UWI Western Campus. He explained to the students the importance of good manners and respect for all persons, regardless of their age or status in life.
