ST ANN’S BAY HOSPITAL DENIES HAVING ANY LINEN ISSUES AFTER BREAKDOWN OF DRYER
ST ANN’S BAY, St Ann; July 16, 2025
The CEO of St Ann’s Bay Hospital is strongly denying reports that a broken-down dryer at the facility has led to an inadequate supply of clean linen reaching the wards and other areas.
Dennis Morgan told the North Coast Times Wednesday morning that, “We don’t have an issue with our linen. I don’t have an issue with drying or washing.”

The St Ann’s Bay Regional Hospital CEO dismissed as a “blatant lie” reports to The Times that patients had complained of not receiving fresh supplies of sheets and other essential items.
He said sister hospitals, Port Maria and Annotto Bay, St Mary, and Cornwall Regional, had been providing drying services.
Reports started to come in to the North Coast Times at the weekend that a dryer and a washing machine had broken down at the hospital, impairing the ability of the staff to turn around sheets and other supplies for the wards.
Mr Morgan denied any problems with the washing machines and admitted the dryer had been broken down for “some time.” But he said the part required had been secured.

Two patients complained to the North Coast Times that they were unable to get clean sheets for their beds. One said she was told that the hospital was not in a position to supply linen to the wards. One of them said relatives brought all supplies, including pillow cases and sheets.
Mr Morgan said there was no truth to such reports and that the hospital had no issue with linen. He said the parts for the dryer had been ordered and would be installed soon. He could not give a date for when that would take place.
